MCWA Celebrates 75 Years of Public Water Service

The Monroe County Water Authority celebrated its diamond jubilee this year, commemorating 75 years of public water service. MCWA was formed in 1950 as a public benefit corporation under the New York State Public Authorities Law.

MCWA celebrated this momentous occasion in a variety of ways, including a gathering of employees and retirees in October, along with treatment plant tours for retirees, employees and their families.

Though our mission was just beginning to take shape 75 years ago, we remain committed to reliably providing quality, affordable water to the communities we serve for generations to come.

We wouldn’t be where we are today without our incredible employees, past and present.
