Water Fact

MCWA's Shoremont Water Treatment Plant can produce up to 140 million gallons a day.

Hertfordshire Way to Franlee Lane Connection
Overview

As part of the work necessary for the Town of Victor's conversion to retail customers of the Authority a new water main connection is being made between the existing water main on Hertfordshire Way and Franlee Lane. The new main will be both 8" ductile iron and 8" HDPE, the majority of which will be installed on easement.

Once the main has been installed, it is pressure tested for leaks. If any leaks are found, they are corrected. Then the main is flushed and disinfected. Health samples are taken for testing by the Department of Health. After the main has successfully passed all tests, the new main is officially put in service.

During final restoration, disturbed areas are restored to their preconstruction condition. Temporary asphalt is removed, and permanent asphalt is installed in paved areas. Lawn areas are graded and seeded and the contractor is responsible for proper regrowth.

Schedule

The schedule depends on a number of factors, but we anticipate our contractor starting work in late June and completing water main installation in early July. Final lawn restoration should be completed shortly after.
