MCWA departments are organized to deliver quality water to our customers as efficiently and affordably as possible.
Production and Transmission Department
The Production and Transmission Department operates systems related to:
- Water treatment
- Water quality
The Engineering Department is responsible for planning, analyzing and implementing system extension projects; planning, design, and construction of major facility replacements; capital improvement projects; continuing improvements to water system standards; and technical assistance to other departments and to outside agencies.
The Engineering Department is divided into four sections:
- New business/system extensions
- Support engineering
- Design engineering
- Construction Contract Administration
Facilities, Fleet and Operations
The Facilities, Fleet and Operations Department consists of a warehouse division, which purchases, stores and distributes materials; a buildings and grounds division, which includes maintenance, trucking and internal construction projects; a fleet division which purchases and maintains vehicles and mobile equipment; and an operations division, which is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of water mains, hydrants, valves, water services, leak detection and dispatch.
The department maintains nearly 100 properties (tank sites, booster pump stations, offices) and more than 100 vehicles.

The Finance and Business Services Department is responsible for:
- Customer service
- Meter services
- Information technology
- Collections and claims
